The Story
Virginia Creeper provides one of the most spectacular autumn colour displays of any climbing or spreading plant available in Perth. The large, five-lobed leaves turn vivid scarlet, deep crimson, and orange before dropping cleanly - a brief but extraordinary seasonal event that is the primary reason to plant it. Self-clinging on rough surfaces by means of adhesive pads - it requires no ties or training on brick, timber, or stone. Very vigorous once established; it will cover a large fence or wall quickly and completely. Full sun to part shade - the autumn colour is most vivid in full sun. Adaptable soils. Drought tolerant once established. Trim after leaf drop to control size.
