Serruria Florida Blushing Bride

Blushing Bride is one of the most exquisite South African Proteaceae - a compact shrub producing masses of small, lacy flower heads in the softest blush-pink, like tissue paper rosettes gathered in clusters. Each flower is intricate up close: layers of pale pink bracts surrounding a darker centre, the whole thing impossibly delicate for a plant that came from the harsh Cape Fynbos. It is one of the most sought-after cut flowers in the world, with exceptional vase life, and it is just as stunning on the plant in the garden. Full sun. Sandy, very well-drained soil. Phosphorus-free fertiliser essential. Minimal summer irrigation. Flowering peaks in late winter and spring.
