Philodendrons are the workhorses of the indoor plant world - tough, adaptable, genuinely forgiving, and available in an extraordinary range of forms from compact tabletop plants to large architectural specimens. Native to tropical Central and South America, they have evolved on the forest floor where light is filtered and variable - meaning they genuinely tolerate low to medium light, though they grow faster and look better in bright indirect light.
