The Story
Sunset Dwarf Peach is a self-pollinating, compact peach producing sweet, yellow-fleshed fruit in summer on a tree that stays to around 1.5m - manageable in a small garden or a large pot. Peaches need good winter chill hours to set fruit reliably, which means they perform better in Perth's Hills and cooler southern suburbs than in the coastal northern areas. The fruit ripens in December-January and has the intensely sweet, fragrant flavour that only tree-ripened peaches achieve. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Water consistently through spring as fruit swells. Thin fruit to one per cluster for best size. Prune hard in late winter after harvest.
