The Story
Sunset Dwarf Nectarine is a self-pollinating compact nectarine producing smooth-skinned, sweet, yellow-fleshed fruit in summer on a tree that stays manageable at around 1.5m. The nectarine is essentially a smooth-skinned peach - the same richness and fragrance, without the fuzz. Like peaches, nectarines perform best where winter chill hours are adequate - the Hills and cooler southern Perth suburbs. Ripens December-January. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Water consistently through spring as fruit develops. Thin to improve fruit size. Prune hard in late winter.
