Graptoveria the Grim One

Graptoveria is a hybrid genus crossing Graptopetalum and Echeveria, producing rosette-forming succulents that inherit the best qualities of both parents - the plump, geometric form of Echeveria with the hardiness and colour intensity of Graptopetalum. They are among the easier rosette succulents for Perth gardens and pots, tolerating more heat and neglect than pure Echeveria. Full sun to bright indirect light. Excellent drainage. Water thoroughly then allow to dry completely before watering again. Minimal fertiliser. The Grim One produces dramatic, deep purple-grey to near-black rosettes - the darkest-toned Graptoveria, and the name suits it. The colour is most intense in full sun, where the purple deepens toward a gothic, almost bruised quality. Outstanding as a contrast element alongside bright green or silver succulents.
